Barbara Sykes Gibson is a Hampton, Virginia–based photographer whose work is inspired by the natural beauty of coastal landscapes. With a background in science and formal training through an 18-month apprenticeship at VAPC Photography School, she blends observation and artistry in her outdoor photography. Her work has been exhibited at regional art centers across Hampton Roads and published in USA Today and the Liz Moore Realty company, “We Love Where We Live”, travel book. Barbara is an exhibiting artist at Blue Skies Gallery and Art Central Gallery Phoebus and serves as an official photographer for Project 1619.org.
